Printed leather garments are a top seller for Synplus
New techniques in printing on leather have been developed recently, allowing Synplus to bring a whole new product line to the market in inexpensive printed real leather garments. Our tannery purchased a print house using this new technology and moved it into their facility to create vertical production, expedite dye to print lead-time and ensure complete control of quality in printed leather.
Full coverage prints on leather used to be stiff. Now we are able to take lamb or pig leather and apply a transfer print to the face. The end result is a soft supple printed leather which can be cut into any jacket, pant, skirt, dress or coat you design. Photos can now be transferred onto leather! Graffiti art, graphics, even textured illusions such as a herringbone pattern can now be printed or transferred onto leather. We can simulate patent leather or create metallic leather and then add a print on top of it.
Leather or the top, outer layer of the hide is the most expensive part of the hide. For a more cost effective printed leather we suggest using the suede and split layers of the hide. They are less expensive in both lamb and pig. With this new printing technique we can apply the transfer or film to suede or split and the end result is a completely leather-like soft finish. You can actually make leather out of suede or split. The nap of the suede or split is completely covered and printed leather is created. We suggest using lamb or pig suede or split when you have a print with 100% coverage as shown below.
